Kabir Bedi ‘s unknowing help
On a lighthearted note, the actress recalled being absolutely petrified at the thought of wearing a swimsuit for a film shoot. What eased her nerves slightly was seeing Kabir Bedi sporting swimming trunks—since heroes of that era usually stuck to ganjis and shorts for pool scenes. In a clever attempt to avoid the swimsuit sequence, she confessed to director Rakesh Roshan that she didn’t know how to swim.Believing her, Roshan not only convinced her gently but even went a step further—he cut out an entire stanza from the song, considering her supposed limitation. Sonu eventually came clean, but only after filming was complete, laughing over how she had pulled off a smooth dive into the pool during a shot, and Rakesh Roshan never caught on.
