USV buys parent co of Wellbeing for Rs 1600 crore

NEW DELHI: Drug firm USV will acquire a majority stake in Nutritionalab, the parent company of Wellbeing Nutrition, for nearly Rs 1600 crore, expanding its footprint in the domestic high-growth D2C (direct to consumer) nutraceutical market.USV will acquire around 79% stake in an all-cash deal for Rs 1,583 crore, which includes 35% from the founder, Avnish Chhabria, and 44% from existing shareholders. The deal marks the exit of early backers, Fireside Ventures and Hindustan Unilever, who together hold 40% stake.
