In an interview with Moneycontrol, Swanand Kirkire shared his opinion on Arijit Singh’s journey and retirement. He said, “It’s a big loss for the industry because the film industry needs singers like that. You know, film industry basically needs stars to run the show because it’s a lot of money writing on songs and stuff.”He further shared that there are times when movies get business because of the songs in them. He expressed that if a particular song turns out to be a hit, people go and watch the film in cinemas. He said, “So we need stars like Arjit and Neha.”

Swanand Kirkire further expressed, “But, at the same time, it’s their choice. If they want to take a break, they can afford to take a break.” He went on to say that he would request them to come back to playback singing because they are loved massively. He said, “I’ll request them to come back and sing because they’re loved. Everybody needs that. And they’re good.”
