International pop star Shakira was set to perform in India this April, a development that had fans excited to watch her live in concert. However, the event has now been postponed. The ticketing platform has shared an update on social media, leaving the Grammy-winning artist’s fans disappointed.
Shakira’s India tour postponed
Shakira’s fans in India were met with disappointing news as her concerts in the country have been postponed. According to an Instagram post by ticketing app District, the shows have been called off for now due to issues in the Middle East.
The post read, “Due to the prevailing geopolitical situation and regional tensions, the Feeding India Concert featuring Shakira has been postponed until further notice. The well-being of our fans, the artist, and the production team remains our foremost priority.”No new dates have been announced yet. The post further stated, “All ticket holders will receive a full refund, automatically processed to your original mode of payment. We’re working with the artist’s team to find a new date and will share updates as soon as we have them.”Meanwhile, the caption added that refunds would be processed within 5–7 business days, while assuring fans that updates on rescheduled dates would be shared soon.

Soon after the update, fans took to social media to express their disappointment. Some also questioned whether they would be compensated for travel expenses incurred for the shows.One user wrote, “I have already booked my flight tickets from Kolkata, and the tickets are non-refundable.” Another commented, “Who’s going to pay my flight bills???”An Instagram user added, “Ek din shows reh jayenge… main reschedule ho jaunga.”

Shakira was scheduled to perform on April 10 and 11 in Mumbai, and on April 15 in Delhi.
