Ranveer Singh and Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar continues its commanding run at the box office, delivering big numbers and sustained momentum. However, despite its impressive performance, the film fell just short of beating Simmba’s collection on the second Friday, delaying the ascent to his second-biggest hit . But given the trend Dhurandhar is only hours away from capturing the 2nd position.
Dhurandhar’s journey began on a powerful note with a Rs 28 crore opening on its first Friday, signaling strong anticipation and mass appeal. The upward trend continued on Saturday as the film collected Rs 32 crore, registering a healthy growth of over 14 percent. Sunday proved to be the turning point, with collections soaring to an outstanding Rs 43 crore, driven by excellent word of mouth and packed shows across metros and single screens.Like most big releases, the film faced a noticeable dip on Monday, earning Rs 23.25 crore, a drop of nearly 46 percent from Sunday. However, what truly strengthened Dhurandhar’s box office narrative was its exceptional weekday hold. The film bounced back to collect Rs 27 crore on Tuesday and maintained the exact same figure on Wednesday and Thursday, showcasing rare consistency and audience loyalty.
On 2nd Friday the film’s collection jumped on to Rs 32 crore- higher than its first Friday collection. With that the first day collection stood at Rs 239.25 crore, firmly placing it among the biggest earners of the year. This strong first-week total laid a solid foundation for the crucial second weekend, even though the film narrowly missed overtaking Simmba’s benchmark on the second Friday.Simmba, directed by Rohit Shetty, remains a towering success in Ranveer Singh’s career, having gone on to earn Rs 240.3 crore as its lifetime collection. With the second Saturday expected to witness a significant jump in collections, Dhurandhar is poised to officially become Ranveer Singh’s second-biggest hit, reinforcing his box office credibility beyond his established franchises. The film’s action-driven narrative, Aditya Dhar’s direction, and Ranveer’s intense screen backed by presence of names like Akshaye Khanna, R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Rakesh Bedi, Sara Arjun and Gaurav Gera has catapulted the film into a cult status. The makers are now gearing up for the release of its second part on 19th March 2026 where it could be clashing with Yash’s Toxic.
