With just days to go before its official unveiling on Independence Day, Mahindra has released a new teaser of the upcoming Vision S concept SUV, revealing more of its front design and hinting at its all-electric nature. The latest teaser shows off several fresh design cues, including flared wheel arches, a tall and upright stance, and what appears to be a closed-off grille. From the side profile shown in previous teasers, the Vision S carries a bold, sculpted bonnet with functional side scoops, chunky off-road tyres, and edgy wheel cladding, all of which contribute to its rugged yet futuristic look.A steeply raked windscreen gives the SUV a sleek, aerodynamic profile, possibly suggesting a slightly lower height than Mahindra’s current Scorpio range. Expected to be part of the Scorpio family, the Vision S could preview the brand’s first electric iteration of the Scorpio N, which would see it join the existing Classic and Scorpio N models as a more forward-looking sibling.
The concept SUV is said to be built on Mahindra’s new NFA (New Flexible Architecture) platform, designed to accommodate various powertrains with a focus on electrification and efficiency. Although interior shots haven’t been revealed yet, the cabin is expected to be loaded with premium features and modern tech.Mahindra is also set to unveil another concept alongside the Vision S—the Vision SXT, a rugged electric pickup truck. Both models are expected to highlight Mahindra’s future direction for electric mobility. The August 15 reveal will mark Mahindra’s fifth consecutive Independence Day launch, following the likes of the Thar (2020), XUV700 (2021), XUV.e8 (2022), Global Pikup and Thar.e (2023), and the XUV3XO (2024). This year, all eyes will be on the Vision S to see how the brand plans to evolve its legacy SUV range into the EV era.
