Lily Collins’ fans rooting for her casting in an Audrey Hepburn role, finally had their dream come true. On Tuesday, news broke about the ‘Emily In Paris’ star, bagging the lead role to portray the Hollywood screen legend in an upcoming film on the making of the 1961 classic ‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s’.

As per Deadline, the film is based on Sam Wasson’s bestselling book Fifth Avenue, 5 A.M.: Audrey Hepburn, Breakfast at Tiffany’s and the Dawn of the Modern Woman. This will reportedly offer fans a first comprehensive account of the making of the iconic film, while also exploring Hepburn’s star power and the cultural moment that shaped the production.
Fans root for Lily’s casting as Audrey
News of her casting as the icon, comes years after fans relentlessly campaigned for her to play Hepburn in a biopic. “Lily Collins should play Audrey Hepburn in a biographical movie,” fans tweeted back in 2019. Another tweeted, “i’ve said this before and i’ll say it again if they don’t cast lily collins for the tv series about audrey hepburn’s life they can throw the whole thing away.” Others even shared photos of the actress from 2011, where she channeled Audrey’s style and look for a magazine photoshoot. Reacting to the news of her casting, one shared photos of how closely the two resembled eachother and said, “Lily Collins has been manifesting this for all these years… Finally we’ll get to see her as Audrey Hepburn!”Another celebrated the casting saying, “FINALLY! The project is being developed by Collins’ own production banner, with screenwriter Alena Smith attached to adapt the screenplay. Widely regarded as one of Hollywood’s defining stars of the Golden Age, Hepburn won an Academy Award for ‘Roman Holiday’ and went on to headline classics including ‘Sabrina’ and ‘Funny Face’. However, it was the romantic comedy ‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s’ that cemented her as a global fashion and cultural icon.
