Leading Vascular Surgeon reveals 5 warning signs of deep vein issues that people should not ignore

People experience deep calf or thigh pain which begins after extended periods of sitting during flights, car rides or when they spend a complete day in a seated position. People describe this pain as a deep ache which feels like a cramp that appears suddenly, and differs from typical muscle fatigue.

Long sitting slows blood flow in the legs, which can cause a clot to form in a deep vein (DVT). The risk level increases when flights last longer than 4 hours, and when people take long car trips and when they have extra risk factors which include being overweight, pregnant or have had surgery recently.
