KTM teases new street bike for India: Entry-level 160 Duke on the cards?

KTM India has released a new teaser hinting at the arrival of a new motorcycle. Shared across its social media handles, the image shows a Duke silhouette alongside the tagline: “The streets are ready. Are you?” While the brand hasn’t officially revealed the model, it is expected that the new model could be the aal-new 160 Duke.The teaser comes shortly after KTM discontinued the 125 Duke in India, suggesting the upcoming 160 Duke will take its place as the most accessible offering in the brand’s streetfighter lineup. The motorcycle is expected to be developed exclusively for the Indian market, with no immediate plans for global rollout.

Though the Austrian bikemaker hasn’t shared full specs yet, the 160 Duke is expected to be built on the same underpinnings as the current 200 Duke. That includes the trellis frame, 43mm USD forks, and monoshock rear suspension. The design, too, is likely to mirror the aggressive styling of the 200 Duke.

Upcoming KTM 160 Duke: Expected engine specs and features

Speaking of the powertrain, the 160 Duke will reportedly house a newly developed 160cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine. Power output is expected in the ballpark of 20-21 hp. Feature-wise, the bike is expected to get a digital LCD display, dual-channel ABS, and possibly Bluetooth connectivity on higher variants. The official launch of the KTM 160 Duke is expected later this August.
