Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India has unveiled two fresh motorcycles for the much-contested entry-level motorcycle segment in India. These models include the all-new CB125 Hornet and the Shine 100 DX. Bookings for both models begin on August 1, 2025. Here’s a quick look at what’s on offer.
Honda CB125 Hornet: Key highlights
Speaking about the CB125 Hornet first, this is a sporty 125cc machine with a sharp styling and funky, youthful colour options. Key design highlights include twin-LED headlamps, high-mounted indicators, and a sculpted fuel tank with aggressive tank shrouds. In terms of features, the CB125 Hornet gets a 4.2-inch TFT display, Bluetooth connectivity, and support for the Honda RoadSync app, allowing access to navigation, call/SMS alerts, and even music playback through their headset while riding.
Performance-wise, the Hornet’s 123.94cc single-cylinder motor makes 11 hp at 7,500 rpm and 11.2 Nm at 6,000 RPM. This engine comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox and also does its duty in the SP125 and Shine 125, albeit with a marginally lower state of tune. Honda claims it sprints from 0 to 60 kmph in just 5.4 seconds, making it the quickest in its segment.
Another notable addition comes in the form of gold-colored USD forks, a segment-first. Further, it gets a mono-shock unit for rear, and tubeless tyres mounted on sporty multi-spoke alloys. Stopping power comes from a 240 mm front disc, rear drum brakes supported by single-channel ABS. In terms of colour choices, the CB125 Hornet offers four options, including dual-tone combinations like Pearl Siren Blue with Lemon Ice Yellow and Pearl Siren Blue with Sports Red.
Honda Shine DX: Key highlights
On the more practical end of the spectrum, Honda also debuted the Shine 100 DX, an upgraded version of its popular commuter motorcycle. While maintaining the familiar Shine silhouette, the DX version brings added features and a fresh look.
Key highlights include an LCD instrument cluster that displays real-time mileage, distance to empty, and service reminders. Safety has also been improved with a side-stand engine cut-off. At its heart lies a 98.98cc, single-cylinder motor producing 7.28 hp and 8.04 Nm, paired to a 4-speed gearbox. Visually, the Shine 100 DX gets updated body graphics, a sculpted fuel tank, chrome touches on the headlamp and muffler, and an all-black engine and grab rail. The Shine 100 DX is offered in four bold colours including Pearl Igneous Black and Geny Gray Metallic, giving it a stylish edge while retaining commuter practicality.
