In an interview with Rediff, Kareena acknowledged the rumours but remained optimistic, stating that while many had predicted the worst for Karisma and Sunjay’s marriage, the couple believed things could be worked out—and they were trying to do just that. She pointed out that every marriage has its challenges, but resolving issues becomes harder when it plays out in the public eye.

The patch-up trip to Goa

Bebo revealed that Karisma and Sunjay had taken a trip to Goa in hopes of resolving their differences away from the spotlight. However, their attempt at privacy was short-lived, as the media continued to follow them. She expressed frustration over the constant scrutiny, saying the pressure only intensified their problems—even during what was meant to be a patch-up holiday. Despite the challenges, Kareena remained confident that the couple’s love for each other would see them through.

Samaira brought them closer

She also shared that the birth of Karisma and Sunjay’s daughter, Samaira, in March 2005 had brought the couple closer. She described Samaira as a strong bonding force in their relationship. The couple soon returned to their Delhi home, and Kareena noted Sunjay’s deep affection for his daughter—so much so that an upcoming polo tournament he was participating in had its prize named the Samaira Trophy in her honour.Sunjay Kapur and Karisma Kapoor officially ended their marriage in 2016 after years of turbulence. Sunjay, a Delhi-based businessman, passed away on June 12, marking the end of a chapter that had once been under intense public scrutiny.
