Aditya Dhar has kicked off the shoot for his upcoming action drama ‘Dhurandhar 2,’ starring Ranveer Singh. Recently, behind-the-scenes clips featuring Sanjay Dutt from the film’s set went viral. The footage showed a shootout sequence set in Lyari, Pakistan, which instantly sparked chatter online as viewers compared it to real-life video of a similar incident that claimed seven lives and left several others injured.
Sanjay Dutt’s ‘Dhurandhar 2’ look as The Jinn goes viral
A video shared on Reddit captures Sanjay in character as SP Chaudhary Aslam, also known as The Jinn, dressed in his signature white jubba. He is seen standing in the middle of a street, firing at someone, while several extras in police uniforms take part in the action sequence. Another clip shows the actor walking away from the scene and lighting a cigarette.
‘Dhurandhar 2’ explosion scene sparks online buzz
In another clip, cars and bike props on the same street are seen ablaze following what appears to be an explosion. An ambulance drives through the chaos as Sanjay, cigarette in hand, walks toward it for his scene. The sequence seems to depict the aftermath of the previously leaked shootout, and a member of the direction team can be heard calling out “cut” once the shot is completed. Reacting to the clip, one Reddit user speculated that the scene might depict the much-anticipated face-off between The Jinn and Hamza in Dhurandhar 2. Another commenter suggested it could reference the notorious moment where Chaudhry Aslam halts food supplies and blocks an ambulance from entering Lyari, drawing striking parallels to a real-life incident.
‘Dhurandhar 2’ compared with a real Lyari encounter
A Reddit user shared a YouTube video called Reel vs Real, showing how a real incident was recreated in ‘Dhurandhar 2.’ The original video, uploaded by a Pakistani reporter in 2012, shows the actual shootout between the police team led by SP Chaudhary and the Baloch gang seen in the first film. The five-minute clip shows heavy firing, with the reporter and cameraman running for safety as grenades are thrown and they get surrounded. In the video description, the reporter said that seven people, including five policemen, were killed and 20 others were injured. Those who died included Ali from the People’s Aman Committee and PPP leader Hassan Baloch. He also said the clash began after activist Saqib Pathan was killed in a fake operation and that grenades and rockets were used during the fight.
