Even after I stepped away from politics, a politician said something untoward about me,” he said.What surprised him most was how a woman from a village had boldly confronted the politician during a campaign. “One day, when he went to a particular region to campaign, a middle-aged lady stood up to him and asked how he could say such things about me,” the actor recalled.She wasn’t a ‘mass’ fan, and that made Chiranjeevi curiousChiranjeevi admitted that her support piqued his interest, especially because she didn’t fit the profile of his usual mass fan following. “I looked at her and wondered why she was doing that, because she did not seem like my usual mass fan,” he said. When he enquired further, he found out she admired him not for his onscreen work but for the man he is off-screen. “It touched my heart,” Chiranjeevi shared.

Years ago, her child was critically ill with dengue in a village near Rajahmundry and urgently needed platelets. With no help in sight, she reached out to Chiranjeevi’s blood bank in Hyderabad.
