‘Chatha Pacha: The Ring of Rowdies’ is now in its twelfth day at the box office, and the numbers have gone down a lot. The film collected around Rs 11 lakhs India net on day 12. This shows a big drop compared to the first few days. The film had done well in the first 11 days with around Rs 15.33 crore India net but day 12 saw a fall of almost 81% as reported by the Sacnilk website.
Box office totals still look strong for 12 days
Even with the drop the movie has managed to make good numbers overall. The 12-day India net collection is Rs 15.4 crore. The worldwide collection stands at Rs 32.8 crore. The overseas collection is Rs 14.6 crore, and the India gross is Rs 18.2 crore.Day 10 earned Rs 45 lakhs. Day 11 earned Rs 55 lakhs and day 12 dropped to Rs 1 lakh. The second weekend helped the film a little, but the second Monday saw a big fall.
Occupancy numbers stay low on Monday
On Monday, the film had an overall Malayalam occupancy of only 6.69%. That is very low compared to what the film had earlier. Morning shows had 3.97% occupancy, afternoon shows had 6.30%, evening shows had 6.53% and night shows had 9.94%. Night shows were the highest but still not very strong.
Star cast brings energy to the film
The film has a big cast with Arjun Ashokan, Roshan Mathew, Vishak Nair, Ishan Shoukath, Lakshmi Menon, and Siddique in key roles. The movie is directed by Adwaith Nayar, and many viewers enjoyed the lively mood and the rowdy-style fights. The special attraction in the movie is the cameo appearance by Mammootty.

During a success celebration event in Kochi, Mammootty spoke about his role. He said, “In the film, the way I understood the character Walter is that he is the childhood hero of these boys. At some point, he had left the town. All of them are from Kochi. After a long time, when he returns, it is mainly to surprise these boys.”He also talked about the slang he used. Mammootty said, “He speaks the Kochi slang from the time when he left the place. I tried to speak that language and shape the look in a way that the identity of the character does not get lost. He is not speaking the Kochi language that is spoken now. He is speaking the older Kochi slang. Because of that, the present-day kids might feel a slight disconnect.
