NEW DELHI: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Monday issued a strict advisory to teachers involved in the evaluation of Class X and Class XII answer scripts. The warning comes after reports that some evaluators were posting opinions and experiences related to the marking process on social media, potentially causing confusion and spreading rumours among students and other stakeholders.The circular, released on March 16, instructs school principals to ensure all evaluators refrain from discussing the board exam evaluation process publicly. The CBSE emphasised that the evaluation of answer scripts is highly confidential and governed by strict protocols to preserve the integrity of the examination system.Confidentiality and professional conductThe CBSE circular specifically prohibits the sharing of misleading information, personal experiences, or opinions related to evaluation on public platforms. It warns that any attempt to misrepresent facts or spread rumours on social media constitutes a violation of professional conduct and may attract disciplinary action.Teachers are reminded to exercise restraint and uphold the dignity and professionalism of their duties. The Board expects evaluators to maintain confidentiality and ensure that all evaluation procedures are conducted with integrity. School principals have been asked to communicate the advisory promptly to all teachers involved in the evaluation process.Virtual interaction with principals in Saudi ArabiaIn a related development, Abu Mathen George, Deputy Chief of Mission at the Indian Embassy in Riyadh, held a virtual meeting with Principals of CBSE-affiliated schools across Saudi Arabia.The interaction included First Secretary Vipul Bawa and focused on queries concerning the ongoing CBSE Board Examinations. George briefed the Principals on the current regional situation, outlined Embassy initiatives supporting the Indian community, and addressed examination-related concerns raised by school leaders.

Cancellation of Class XII exams in West AsiaThe CBSE has also cancelled Class XII examinations in several West Asian countries due to the worsening regional conflict. Exams scheduled from March 16 to April 10 for students in Bahrain, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE will not be conducted. The Board confirmed that exams previously postponed in these countries are also cancelled.The decision is aimed at ensuring the safety and well-being of students while maintaining the credibility of the examination process. CBSE continues to monitor the situation closely and will provide further updates to schools and students as required.
