Anakapalli collector inaugurates transformed hostel in Parawada under Granules India CSR Initiative

Visakhapatnam: Anakapalli district collector Vijaya Krishnan inaugurated the transformed BC government boys’ hostel in Parawada on Tuesday. The initiative benefits over 100 students from underprivileged families across various villages in Anakapalli and Visakhapatnam districts. The inauguration ceremony was graced by Uma Chigurupati, executive director of Granules India Limited, along with other key government officials. Granules India undertook the project under a CSR initiative.“Every child deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and dream regardless of where they come from. At Granules, we see education as a cornerstone of inclusive progress. By transforming this hostel, we’re creating a safe, dignified space that nurtures both academic focus and self-belief. This initiative is a small but meaningful step in our larger commitment to building healthier, more empowered communities,” said Uma Chigurupati.Children aged between 9 and 15 years residing in the hostel now have access to clean, safe, and dignified living spaces that support their learning journey. As part of the project, education kits comprising school bags and books were distributed to the students to further enable a focused academic experience.

The transformation project addressed critical infrastructure challenges and undertook extensive repairs to upgrade the hostel facilities. The renovated hostel now offers hygienic washrooms, a fully functional kitchen with adequate storage, and clean boarding rooms, giving the children a comfortable and supportive living environment away from home.
