The tournament will then move to Vadodara, which will also host the knockout games. Mumbai Indians enter the new season as the most successful team in WPL history with two titles, while Royal Challengers Bengaluru have won the tournament once. Delhi Capitals have finished runners-up in each of the previous three editions.

The opening ceremony will feature live performances by singer Honey Singh and actor Jacqueline Fernandez, with Miss Universe 2021 and actor Harnaaz Kaur Sandhu also set to appear. The event is part of the BCCI’s plan to mark the start of the fourth season and highlight the growth of the women’s game.
