Spider plants look great in bright, filtered light but show brown, crispy tips and faded colour if left in strong direct sunlight. While tolerant of many conditions, prolonged exposure to hot sun dehydrates the leaf margins and weakens the plant. Place spider plants in bright indirect light or a spot with morning sun only, and water when the topsoil dries slightly to avoid tip burn.
The selection of houseplants that grow in indirect or filtered light besides protecting the fragile foliage helps to provide a healthier and longer growth of the plants inside the house. The eight varieties are ideal in residential areas with dark corners, those facing North or where the sun is diffused. They make plants that can beautify your space, and without the danger of being burned by the sun, you can also have a wonderful, strong plant which gives them the light they need, knowing their natural home.
