What paper II will test
Paper II is a descriptive examination designed to assess advanced bilingual competence.
Candidates will attempt two translation passages — one from Hindi to English and another from English to Hindi — followed by two essays, one in each language. The test evaluates a candidate’s
linguistic accuracy, grammatical strength, comprehension ability, and clarity of expression
, making it a crucial stage for translator posts that demand precision and contextual understanding.
Next steps
Admit cards for Paper II are expected to be released about a week before the exam.
Candidates will be required to download them from their respective SSC regional websites using their login credentials. On the examination day, candidates must carry their admit card, a valid photo ID used during Paper I, and essential stationery. Electronic items and prohibited materials will not be allowed inside the exam hall.Following Paper II, SSC will begin the
document verification process
for qualified candidates. They will have to present their educational certificates, identity proof, category documents, and other relevant records as specified by the Commission. The
final merit list will be prepared based on combined scores of Paper I and Paper II
