Also called the Siamese fighting fish, Bettas are famous for their long and flowy fins and tail, and striking colours– all of which make them look elegant. Despite their dramatic appearance, they’re relatively easy to care for. Bettas prefer warm, clean water around 25–28°C and don’t require air pumps because they breathe surface air through a special organ. However, male bettas can be territorial, so keep them alone or with peaceful tank mates.
