Indian Navy Agniveer recruitment 2026: The Indian Navy has issued recruitment notifications for Agniveer SSR, Agniveer MR and SSR (Medical) Sailor posts for the 01/2027 and 02/2027 batches. Online applications will be accepted through the official recruitment portal between March 14, 2026 and April 06, 2026.Both male and female candidates are eligible to apply for Agniveer SSR and Agniveer MR posts. Recruitment for SSR (Medical) Sailor positions is restricted to unmarried male candidates. The selection process will commence with the Indian Navy Entrance Test (INET) 2026 and then continue with other rounds.Recruitment structure and application processThe recruitment drive is carried out by the Indian Navy for the posts of sailors under the Agniveer scheme. The application will be done entirely online through the official website, joinindiannavy.gov.in.The selection process includes several rounds such as the computer-based test in the Indian Navy Entrance Test (INET) 2026. Then comes the Physical Fitness Test (PFT), followed by the Stage II written test and then the document and medical tests.The selected candidates will undergo the training at INS Chilka in the state of Odisha.Important schedule for the recruitment processThe notification was released on March 10, 2026. The INET test will be conducted in May 2026, and the results are expected in the months of May and June 2026.

Further recruitment stages will continue through 2026 and 2027 for different batches, including call-up letters, Stage II examinations and induction at INS Chilka.Eligibility and age requirementsAge eligibility varies depending on the batch. Candidates applying for Agniveer 01/2027 must be born between December 01, 2004 and May 31, 2009. For Agniveer 02/2027 and SSR (Medical) 02/2027, applicants must be born between May 01, 2005 and October 31, 2009.Educational qualifications differ by post. Agniveer MR applicants must have passed Class 10 with at least 50 per cent marks. Agniveer SSR candidates must have completed Class 12 with Mathematics and Physics or hold a three-year diploma with 50 per cent marks. Applicants for Agniveer SSR (Medical) must have completed Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry and Biology with at least 50 per cent marks.Examination pattern and fitness standardsThe written examination for Agniveer SSR will contain 100 questions covering English, Science, Mathematics and General Awareness, with a duration of one hour. The Agniveer MR test will consist of 50 questions in Science and Mathematics and General Awareness for 30 minutes.The SSR (Medical) test will consist of 100 questions in English, Science, Biology, and General Awareness.All these papers will be objective type in both English and Hindi with a negative marking scheme of 0.25 for incorrect answers.The candidates need to clear the Physical Fitness Test to be eligible for the written test in Stage II. The PFT includes a 1.6 kilometre run along with squats, push-ups and sit-ups, with separate standards for male and female candidates. The application fee for all categories is Rs. 550, payable online.
