Several major leisure destinations in Dubai will remain closed this weekend as authorities take precautionary measures amid ongoing regional developments.Organisers confirmed that Global Village, Ain Dubai and Dubai Parks and Resorts will not operate on Saturday, March 7, and Sunday, March 8. The temporary shutdown has been described as a safety step aligned with official guidance, aimed at protecting visitors and staff.The closure also affects Dubai’s landmark observation wheel. Ain Dubai, the tallest observation wheel in the world and located on Bluewaters Island, will remain shut over the weekend. The attraction has indicated that it will resume operations once authorities determine that it is safe to reopen.Other entertainment venues across the city have also announced similar precautionary closures. Wild Wadi Waterpark confirmed that it will not operate on March 7 and 8. Visitors planning family outings to the waterpark have been advised to monitor official announcements before rescheduling their visit.Meanwhile, not all destinations are fully shutting down. Dubai Festival City Mall confirmed that its retail outlets and dining venues will continue to operate as usual. The mall’s nightly water and light show will also go ahead as scheduled.However, one of its seasonal attractions will pause. The daily Ramadan drone show has been postponed until further notice.Visitors who had already planned trips to the affected venues are being urged to check official websites and social media channels for updates regarding reopening timelines, programme changes and ticket validity.Authorities have also asked residents to rely only on verified announcements and to follow official safety advisories.
