CBSE board exams 2026: The Central Board of Secondary Education has issued an alert regarding a fake circular being shared on social media. The notice falsely claims that some board examinations in the Middle East region have been cancelled for the 2025 to 26 academic session.
CBSE calls viral notice fake
In a post shared from its official headquarters account on X, CBSE clearly stated that the circular is not genuine. The board said, “Important Alert. This is a fake circular. An official update will follow.” It also asked students, parents and schools not to believe or circulate the misleading document.
What the fake circular claimed
The fake circular carries the CBSE letterhead and is dated February 28, 2026. It claims that due to war conditions in parts of the Middle East, the remaining language papers for Classes 10 and 12 and the Class 10 Social Science exam have been cancelled. It also mentions that students would be awarded marks through alternative methods such as internal assessments and periodic tests.The document further states that the decision would apply only to regular students registered through schools in the Middle East region facing operational difficulties. It adds that private candidates and students in other international locations would not be covered under the decision.
No official cancellation announced
However, CBSE has clarified that no such cancellation has been announced. The board has not issued any official order regarding the cancellation of examinations in the Middle East region.Students are advised to rely only on official communication released through the CBSE website and verified social media handles of the board.
