Joe Manganiello has reignited buzz around the ‘Batman’ movie in Zack Snyder’s Snyderverse. Days after Zack shared a post featuring a BTS shot of Ben Affleck’s Batman, Joe shared a post credit scene involving his character, Deathstroke in Snyder’s ‘Justice League’. “You better not be wasting my time…” he captioned the post that sparked fresh speculation among fans about the fate of the long-discussed “Batfleck” project and if the Snyderverse may just be coming back.

Joe Manganiello teases return of “Batfleck”

Affleck’s solo Batman film, often referred to as “Batfleck”, was set to be part of the Snyderverse. However, the film was ultimately shelved after the actor stepped down from directing and starring in the film, reportedly due to a “really excruciating” experience during the troubled production of ‘Justice League’. Affleck’s exit from the part led to Matt Reeves creating ‘The Batman’ with Robert Pattinson. This film series that is set to roll out its sequel, exists outside the DC universe. Manganiello shared a video clip featuring himself in costume as Slade Wilson/Deathstroke, tagged with director Snyder’s name, reigniting discussion about the unfinished story that the director set out to tell in his planned film series. The character of Deathstroke was originally teased to feature in the original Snyder Cut and intended to lead into the solo Batman film.

Meanwhile, James Gunn is reportedly gearing up to introduce a new Batman into the DC universe with ‘Superman: Man of Tomorrow’ which is slated for a 2027 release. Pattinson’s ‘The Batman II’ is also slated for an October 2027 release.
