Many short-answer questions come straight from these parts. If you can explain the lesson in your own simple words, you will not struggle in the exam.”
Character Sketches
When it comes to character-based questions, over-writing can backfire. Students often feel that writing more will bring more marks, but that is not how evaluation works.“In character sketches, students often retell the entire story. That is not required. Focus only on the character’s qualities with examples. For example, mention one or two incidents that show the character’s nature. This is widely seen as the most scoring section.“Grammar is very important in this paper,” the teacher said. “Questions on tenses, articles, prepositions, transformation of sentences, and correction of sentences are scoring areas. For example, changing active voice to passive voice or correcting a wrong sentence can give you easy marks if you practice daily. Spend at least 20 minutes every day solving grammar exercises.”However, small mistakes can cost marks. “In grammar sections, spelling and punctuation matter. If the transformation is correct but you forget capital letters or full stops, marks can be cut. Write answers carefully. Do not overwrite. If you make a mistake, strike it neatly and write again.”
