The Board of Secondary Education, Uttar Pradesh has issued detailed instructions to ensure the purity of the 2026 High School and Intermediate examinations. In a communication sent to District School Inspectors across the state, the Board directed strict compliance with procedures related to the handling and evaluation of answer sheets.The examination for the students of Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) scheduled for February 18, 2026, and conclude on March 12, 2026, would be offline. According to the Board, maintaining the transparency of the collections of the answer books is of paramount importance for the reputation of the Board.What students must avoid during answer sheet submissionThe Board has instructed all the examination centres to upfront inform the candidates that the placement of currency or any other material inside the answer sheet amounts to indiscipline. As per the directive, there were instances highlighted in the past where the candidates were attaching currency notes to their answer books either under misconception or ignorance.UPMSP explained that if any currency is found during compilation or evaluation, it will be treated as use of unfair means. Such cases shall attract action under the Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024. The recovered currency should be deposited in the treasury as per rules, and the incident reported immediately to the District School Inspector for further proceedings.The Board also said that room invigilators will be held responsible in case such material is traced. In that case, the invigilator concerned will be considered negligent in duty and liable for departmental action.The schedule of examination and shiftsThe 2026 board examinations of Class 10 and Class 12 will start on February 18, 2026, and it will continue till March 12, 2026. The exams will be held in pen-and-paper mode across the state.The morning shift will be from 8:30 AM to 11:45 AM, while the afternoon shift is scheduled from 2:00 PM to 5:15 PM. On the first day, Hindi and Elementary Hindi examinations for both classes will be conducted. The key subjects and dates include Social Science Class 10 on February 20, English Class 10 and Mathematics or Zoology Class 12 on February 23, Science Class 10 on February 25, and Mathematics Class 10 on February 27.Practical examinations and admit cardsIn two phases, the practical examinations for class 12 were held from January 24, 2026 to February 9, 2026. However, the pending marks were to be submitted up to February 13, 2026. Schools started the offline supply of admit cards in early February. Students are required to collect the admit cards from their respective schools. The revised schedule and model papers are accessible on the official UPMSP website.
