Two-Wheeler sales Jan ’26: Royal Enfield crosses 1 million YTD, how others performed

India’s two-wheeler industry started 2026 on a strong note, with January sales reflecting sustained demand across motorcycles, scooters and electric two-wheelers. Most leading players reported gains in both domestic and export markets. Here’s a closer look at how the major two-wheeler manufacturers performed in January 2026.Hero MotoCorp reported cumulative sales of 5,57,871 units in January 2026, registering a 26 per cent growth compared to 4,42,873 units sold in the same month last year. Motorcycle sales formed the bulk of the volumes at 4,95,889 units, up from 4,00,293 units in January 2025. Domestic sales stood at 5,20,208 units.On a year-to-date basis, Hero’s motorcycle sales for FY26 stood at 4.81 million units, compared to 4.62 million units during the same period last year. Hero’s electric brand Vida recorded 13,000 VAHAN registrations, reflecting a 21 per cent month-on-month growth.

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India also reported a strong performance, with total sales of 5,74,411 units in January 2026. This included 5,19,579 units sold in the domestic market and 54,832 units exported. The company registered a 29 per cent year-on-year growth compared to January 2025.For the year-to-date period of FY26, HMSI recorded total sales of 52,53,205 units, comprising 47,23,979 units in domestic sales and 5,29,226 units in exports.

TVS Motor Company’s two-wheeler sales grew 28 per cent to 4,94,195 units in January 2026. Domestic two-wheeler sales rose 30 per cent to 3,83,262 units. Motorcycle sales increased 26 per cent to 2,19,188 units, while scooter sales grew 30 per cent to 2,22,926 units.TVS’ electric vehicle sales saw a sharp rise of 50 per cent, climbing to 37,756 units in January 2026 from 25,195 units last year. Exports also improved, with total overseas shipments rising 21 per cent to 1,22,343 units.Bajaj Auto reported a solid performance in January 2026, with total two-wheeler sales reaching 4,06,295 units. This marked a 24 per cent increase compared to 3,28,413 units sold in January 2025.Domestic sales stood at 2,14,727 units during the month, registering a 25 per cent growth over 1,71,299 units recorded a year earlier. Exports continued to play a significant role, rising 22 per cent to 1,91,568 units in January 2026, compared to 1,57,114 units in January 2025.Royal Enfield reported total sales of 1,04,322 units in January 2026, up from 91,132 units in January 2025. Domestic sales stood at 93,781 units, while exports were recorded at 10,541 units.On a year-to-date basis, Royal Enfield crossed the one-million milestone, posting total FY26 sales of 10,25,420 units compared to 8,18,209 units in the previous year, reflecting a 25 per cent growth.Suzuki Motorcycle India also reported positive growth in January 2026, with total sales of 1,25,786 units, marking a 15 per cent increase over 1,08,921 units sold in January 2025. Domestic sales grew 14 per cent to 1,00,296 units, while exports rose 21 per cent to 25,490 units during the month.
