Two-wheeler sales May '26: Suzuki at record high, TVS and Honda gain

India’s two-wheeler industry continued its strong momentum in May 2026, with several manufacturers reporting healthy year-on-year (YoY) growth in domestic sales, exports and overall dispatches. Companies including Hero MotoCorp, Honda, TVS, Bajaj and Suzuki all posted positive numbers during the month.

Two-wheeler sales May 2026: How brands performed

Hero MotoCorp

Hero MotoCorp continued to lead the sales as it reported total dispatches of 5,70,068 units in May 2026. The company had dispatched 5,07,701 units during the same period last year, marking a strong year-on-year increase.Domestic sales stood at 5,36,784 units, up 9.77 percent compared to May 2025. Exports registered an even sharper rise of 77.95 percent, reaching 33,284 units during the month. Motorcycle sales came in at 5,03,763 units, reflecting a 6.02 percent increase year-on-year, while scooter sales surged by 103.78 percent to 66,305 units.

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India also posted double-digit growth during the month. The company recorded total sales of 5.18 lakh units in May 2026, up 12 percent from 4.65 lakh units sold in May 2025.Domestic sales stood at 4.59 lakh units, registering a 10 percent increase over 4.17 lakh units sold during the corresponding month last year. Exports reached 0.59 lakh units, growing 24 percent compared to 0.47 lakh units exported in May 2025.

TVS Motor Company

TVS Motor Company emerged as one of the strongest performers of the month. Total two-wheeler sales rose 31 percent year-on-year to 5,43,111 units, up from 4,16,166 units sold in May 2025.Domestic two-wheeler sales increased 24 percent to 3,84,565 units. Motorcycle sales climbed 30 percent to 2,73,802 units, while scooter sales grew 32 percent to 2,20,740 units during the month.

Bajaj Auto

Bajaj Auto also recorded healthy growth across both domestic and international markets. The company sold 2,09,528 two-wheelers in the domestic market in May 2026, registering a 9 percent increase over 1,91,412 units sold in May 2025.Exports played a major role in Bajaj’s overall performance, rising 30 percent to 1,83,676 units compared to 1,40,958 units in the same month last year. Combined domestic and export sales stood at 3,93,204 units, marking an 18 percent growth over 3,32,370 units sold in May 2025.

Suzuki Motorcycle India

Suzuki Motorcycle India also reported its highest-ever monthly sales performance in May 2026. The company sold a total of 1,32,244 units during the month, registering a 3 percent year-on-year growth compared to 1,28,897 units sold in May 2025.Domestic sales touched an all-time high of 1,10,028 units, up 2 percent over 1,07,780 units sold during the same month last year. Exports also maintained steady growth, increasing 5 percent to 22,216 units from 21,117 units in May 2025.

Royal Enfield

Royal Enfield too reported positive growth during the month. The company’s domestic motorcycle sales rose 24 percent to 94,115 units compared to 75,820 units sold in May 2025. However, exports declined 33 percent to 9,116 units from 13,609 units a year earlier.Overall sales for the brand stood at 1,03,231 units in May 2026, marking a 15 percent increase over 89,429 units sold during the same period last year.
